Run a Free Vermont Parole Search on Anyone

Free Vermont Parolee Lookup
Find out if someone you know or love was released from prison on parole in Vermont, free of charge.

Perform a free Vermont parole search anytime to uncover information on parolees throughout the state. Facts about the offender’s crimes, where they report to, how long they will be under supervised release, and much more are accessible to all.

An individual on parole is usually a convicted criminal who served part of their sentence in a correctional facility and has since been released under a series of conditions to complete serving their time. It’s important that concerned citizens have access to details regarding these parolees, and the state of Vermont makes this information readily available through various channels.

Probation, although similar to parole in some ways, allows individuals released from jail — rather than prison — to serve their sentences without being incarcerated.

This resource will walk readers through the process of obtaining parolee information so every resident can remain informed.

How To Search Vermont Parole Records & Statuses at No Cost

Any interested citizen can run a free parole search and find who’s a supervised offender in Vermont. The Department of Corrections (DOC) has an online search tool that is very convenient for citizens.1 In fact, they make a lot of valuable information available through their annual Community Supervision Population Report.2

There are currently over 4500 offenders in supervised release in Vermont. The Vermont Offender Search is free and accessible to all, allowing citizens to find information about those offenders under supervision, including details about their criminal activities and sentences.

Also known as Jail Tracker, the system can be searched by name, using the offender’s full name. Concerned citizens can use only the last name if the offender’s full name isn’t known.

It’s also possible to narrow the search using some filters. For example, users can limit the search to released individuals, who’d be more likely to be on parole.

However, this filter only shows inmates released in the last 30 days, which could omit some names or not yield an extensive result. Although looking at all the inmates in the system may result in a longer list of names, it seems to be a more efficient search.

The search results will show not only who’s on parole but also which office that offender reports to. If the user clicks on the “View More” button, they’ll be able to access more details about the case, including the offense that led to the sentence, the confirmation the person is on parole, the name of their parole officer, and more.

The Jail Tracker is provided to the people by the DOC. If more information or support is needed, concerned citizens can contact the Department of Corrections in person, using the following information:

Look Up Parole Violators & Escapees Throughout Vermont

There are tools to perform a statewide parole search and uncover information about offenders in Vermont, including those violating or trying to escape their sentence.

The state doesn’t provide an online search for absconders, but there are alternative online resources that can be utilized. It’s also possible to visit the local office responsible for that individual and ask for information.

Anyone can request a copy of an individual’s criminal history information. The Vermont Crime Information Center allows anyone to order Record Checks, which will provide details about an offender’s criminal history, including how they’re serving their sentences – and, if on parole, if they’re wanted or not.4

Record checks can be ordered from the Vermont Criminal Conviction Record Internet Service (VCCRIS).5 Simple copies of criminal conviction records can be purchased for $30, and there are other options of services that can be requested as well.

How To Look Up Inmates in a State Prison (Vermont Parole Search)

The Jail Tracker system shows more than information about offenders on parole in Vermont. In fact, the system contains detailed information about all inmates in the system, including those currently serving in state prisons and those who are under supervised release.

Users must select to look at ” Currently Only ” inmates to search for information about offenders who are currently serving their sentences. This will ensure that the search results show only those who are still in the system. Just like when searching for a parolee, if the user clicks on “View More”, they’ll be able to access detailed information about the offender’s crimes, sentence, and more.

To help citizens send money to a current inmate, Vermont works with Access Corrections. They need to know the inmate’s ID or their full name in order to complete a transaction.

To contact an inmate, interested citizens can create an account with GettingOut. This will provide the inmate with a prepaid account so they can call and conveniently communicate with the people they care about. For more information and support, interested people can call (866)516-0115.

How To Reach a Vermont Parole Officer or Determine When a Parole Hearing Is

The Vermont Parole Board is managed by the state’s Agency of Human Services. They’re responsible for holding hearings where inmates are evaluated and a decision is made regarding their parole status and eligibility.

Contacting them or following their hearing can be useful when running a parole search in Vermont. Their hearing schedule is available online, and those meetings are open to the public.

The Parole Board’s schedule is organized in two ways to facilitate the user’s search. First, it’s possible to find the monthly schedule for each correctional facility.

It’s called the “Tentative Monthly Hearing Schedule”. It’s important to know in which facility the inmate of interest is serving their sentence so that the correct hearing can be attended.

Then, it’s possible to look at each facility’s schedule and uncover whose cases will be heard on any particular date. Those are the “Final Hearing Schedules”.

For anyone interested in participating or watching the hearing, those meetings are conducted online. There’s no need to make arrangements to come in person. The Final Hearing Schedule for a particular facility will include a link to join that meeting and participate.

In Vermont, when an offender has already been released on parole, it’s also possible to contact their parole officer directly. When looking up a name on the Jail Tracker, the name of the officer responsible for monitoring that parolee’s conditional release is among the details presented to the public (as well as the office to which the parolee reports). With that information, citizens can contact them whenever help or support is needed.

How To Find Out Who Is on Probation in Vermont for Free

Concerned citizens can also conveniently determine if an individual is on parole in Vermont. Individuals on probation live under supervision, quite similar to parole. The main difference, in most cases, is that those on probation serve their full sentences under those conditions, without having served time in jail.

The same system that provides information about who’s on parole or all the inmates in the state also shows information about probationers.

When performing a search by name (using the full name of an individual or their last name), the results will indicate the status of that person in the system.

The Vermont Offender Search, also known as Jail Tracker, will let citizens access any detail that may be relevant to them – including when someone is on probation, who’s their probation officer, and to which office they regularly report.

The ability to search for information and find relevant facts about individuals in society is priceless, as it promotes transparency and allows good citizens to keep themselves informed and safe. Residents should never hesitate to perform a Vermont parole search, as long as they respect other individuals’ privacy.
